On Sunday 8th March at RAF Lyneham the Senior Football Regional event took place. Unfortunately there were only 5 teams as Devon & Somerset got the dates mixed up. This meant that there were 3 teams in one group and 2 in another.

Our first game was against Thames Valley which we won 3-1. We then had to wait for the other group to finish. The weather turned really bad and halfway through the 2nd game between Dorset & Wilts and Bristol & Gloucester and as they were loosing 3-0 they decided to call it a day. We all then stopped for lunch and it really poured down with rain. SO the final was set Dorset & Wilts V Hants & Isle of Wight.

Although the rain had stopped the wind was really strong which made keeping the ball under control very hard. By the end of normal time the score was still 0-0 so we had to go into extra time but the weather had turned to hail again.Still at the end of the first half of extra time there were no goals. Then 2 minutes into the second half we managed to finally score a goal. Everyone was now very tired and weather beaten and Dorset & Wilts were unable to score. So Hants & Isle of Wight won the tournament. Dorset & Wilts took 2nd place, Plymouth & Cornwall took 3rd, Thames Valley took 4th place and Bristol & Gloucester came 5th. Players were then selected for the Nationals on the 18th April at RAF Cosford.
