Top Gun for Gosport CI CI Chris Bowley outshoots the Army and Navy at Bisley
Civilian Instructor Mr Chris Bowley of 1098 (Gosport) Squadron hit the target at the recent Cadet Inter-Service Skill at Arms Meeting by getting the highest individual staff score at the event with 49 out of a possible 50. The event was held at held at Brunswick Camp, Purbright from 25 - 28 Oct 07 and is an annual tri-service event for cadets and staff to compete for the prestige of being the best team, best cadet or best adult. I Although Hants & IOW Wing did not send a cadet team this year, we were represented by the staff with Flt Lt Paul Mitchell OC 1098 Sqn as well as Mr Bowley. Flt Lt Peter Turner, a previous member of this Wing, also attended. Mr Bowley has recently joined 1098 Squadron but honoured a commitment he made to act as team manager for his old unit, 1344 Sqn (Cardiff) Squadron. Readers of Air Cadet will realise that 1344 Sqn are possibly the most successful squadron in the Corps in the realm of shooting and it is hoped that we can now replicate this in Hants & Isle of Wight.
