A joyous celebration of Christmas at St George’s Garrison Church, Bordon marked the last official duty of Flight Lieutenant Brenda Howard after 22 years of loyal service in the Air Training Corps. In addition the carol service also was the last official engagement of Brenda’s husband, Squadron Leader Dudley Howard. His impressive Air Training Corps service spans 43 years.

The carol service heralded in the new Commanding Officer of 2412 (Bordon and District) Squadron, Flying Officer Brian Logan, who will be officially replacing Brenda on 1st January 2008.

The event was co hosted by 2412 (Bordon and District) Squadron and the Alton Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. The President of the Association and Treasurer of 2412 Civilian Committee, Mr. David Chandler, presented Brenda with a token of appreciation from all concerned.

In a period of change for Bordon and District Squadron, the service was preceeded by the appointment of a new squadron chaplain, the Reverend Wendy Mallas. Wendy was officially sworn in by the Hants and IOW Wing Chaplain, Squadron Leader James Pitkin.
