1105 (City of Winchester) Sqn win the Triple!

Saturday October 15th 2005 was a day that 13 cadets from 1105 (City of Winchester) Sqn will not forget. This was the day that the 13 strong team achieved the pinnacle of success in the Corps Drill Competition at RAF Halton by winning both the award for Best Drill Team in the Corps AND Best Drill Commander.

The team, trained by Sqn Warrant Officer Mark Holdaway, has now won all three competitions at Wing, Region and Corps. In all of these competitions Cdt Flight Sergeant Craig Brickwood has been the winning Drill Commander. In effect a clean sweep for 1105 Sqn.

In recognition of the team's success, Wing Commander Tony Clavell, OC Hants & IOW Wing took the opportunity to make this the first occasion for presenting the new "Wing Commander's Commendation" to all the team members and to WO Holdaway for their commitment and dedication to this competition.

Wing Commander Clavell presented the Commendations at a special parade at the Sqn HQ on Thursday 20th October. Also present were the Wing Chairman Mr Geoff Hooper, Sqn Commander Flt Lt Hans Agate, Wing Staff Officer Sqn Ldr Peter Priest and several proud parents. Wing Commander Clavell praised the cadets highly and said "this is an honour not for just yourself, but for your squadron, our Wing and also for South West Region ATC. You have done us all proud".
