If you don't ask then you won't get!

Isle of Wight get an £8000 grant!

1024 (Isle of Wight) Squadron have recently been successful in obtaining an £8000 grant from the Youth Opportunity Fund.

Back in November there was a article in the Isle of Wight County press advertising the fact that the government was making grants for young people and organisations. Civilian Instructor PAUL CARTER, saw the article and moved forward with applying for a small amount of money for a new flight simulator for the Squadron.

After many consultation with the council their small, £500 request turned into an £8000 grant from the government to build a state of the art flight simulator and a multi-media PC suite for the benefit of the cadets on the Island.

They have clearly been very successful in receiving this grant and are looking forward to installing their new PCs and laptop computers in February.

Every squadron should be encouraged to apply for the grant from this fund. The message is "think big".

CI Carter is making himself available to help anyone fill in the application form. If you do need his assistance then please contact him at 1024 (IOW) SQN.
