WING EXERCISE ‘DARTMOOR WANDERER 08,

OKEHAMPTON TRG CAMP,

10-12 OCTOBER 2008

1. Further to last years successful ‘Dartmoor Wanderer 07’, Okehampton
Trg Camp has been booked for the period 10-12 Oct 08. The exercise
titled ‘Dartmoor Wanderer 08’, will follow the same format as in the
past.

2. For those units that have not attended before, the exercise is
basically a 2-day hill walking exercise, with routes to suite all
abilities. The exercise assembles on the evening of Friday 10 Oct 08
and will disperse on the early evening (after a cooked meal at 1630) of
Sunday 12 Oct 08. Hard accommodation has been booked at Okehampton Camp
and catering will be done under the permanent catering contract in place
at the Camp. The cost of this activity is thought to be in the region
of £4.00 per head inc staff (does not include transport costs which are
a Sqn responsibility). This will be confirmed in due course.

3. Any Unit wishing to take part in the above exercise is to contact
WSO3 in writing and bid for places (number of Cdts & names of staff and
their Quals) by Fri 27 Jun 08. After this date bids will not be
accepted. Places for the exercise, across the Wg, are limited to 90
Cdts and 30 Staff, so please be realistic with your bids. Bidding units
will be issued with an Admin Order and an allocation of spaces, on a
pro-rata basis, against the size of their Unit. Bids are particularly
welcome from those staff with nationally recognised qualifications e.g.
BELA or ML(S) Trg / Assessed, as this activity will help you to remain
current. All staff will be expected to walk with groups of Cdts.
