WAD 2008

Location: Worthy Down

Dates: 22 Jun 08.

Squadron Commanders are advised to read the directive in depth this year as there are some significant changes from 2007.

Summary of changes:

- Packed lunches can be provided for cadets and staff at no cost. However a return will be required with names (provisional) by 9 May.

- Squadron Commanders who decide not to take up the offer of a free lunch for their cadets will need to declare accordingly and commit to ensure their unit is fed and watered. 457 will provide a canteen as normal and a buffet lunch will be available for staff as per 2007

- Command Tasks will be dropped down to a single task from two tasks

- Aircraft recognition will be run to select the Wing Champions and the Regional Activities Day team

- Public Speaking will be included as a WAD event for the first time and will take place at the same venue as the Aircraft Recognition

- Uniform and dress codes have been clarified in order to minimise changes of uniform on the day,

- The final parade will be simplified and there will be no march past this year.

- Additional tents will be provided by the Army as changing rooms although squadrons who have indicated they have their own tents should bring them
